Hello.
My name's Brian, I'm 27. I have a degree in Biochemistry from UM, and I went to grad. school for three and a half years working towards a Ph.D., but due to various factors both within and out of my control, I decided to resign. It's funny, I have this shirt that says, "College-The best twelve years of my life", and for a bit I thought that was gonna come true. I guess not, now. :) At least I know I'm not locked into something that I don't know if I want to do, and I'm free to chase my dreams surrounded by great friends. There's something incredibly exciting and terrifying at the same time about taking a second look at everything. I've had some rough patches in my life, but if I've learned anything recently, it's the value of thinking positively, of acting on it, and of having great friends. :)

My loved ones get me through life.

I love my dad even though we had some rough spots. He's changed through the years, and I appreciate that from him. My mother passed away last year. She was the most wonderful woman I've ever known. I'm just grateful that even though she was out of my life for most of it, I had that time towards the end to get to know her again. I have two sisters, (technically half-sisters, but I think of them as full sisters) Erica and Tasha, who I played a significant part in raising. I love them more than I could possibly ever express. And of course there are the people that I have loved and will love always, but are no longer in my life...it makes me sad sometimes but I wish them nothing but happiness.

I love my friend/past life mate Judy. Words cannot express how much she means to me so I won't try, and screw it up. I love my friends Janina, Virginia, and anyone else I didn't mention here. I appreciate everything everyone has ever done for me more than I can ever express. I love my LJ friends, who have been there with me through thick and thin.

I'm addicted to love, and sex too probably. I lead a double life, dorky ex-graduate student by day, wild strip-club hopper by night.

Among my strengths are that I'm dedicated, and I'm one of the best friends you'll ever have.

My weaknesses are women, insecurity, and vodka. For some reason I get along with girls ten million times better than I get along with guys.

I love baseball and I'm a diehard Florida Marlins fan. I like bowling, and fencing, and I'm actually somewhat good at both of them. I play clarinet, and I played in the University of Miami marching band, the Band of the Hour, and watched the football team win the 2003 Rose Bowl National Championship. I was in Tau Beta Sigma, a co-ed sorority for marching bands.

I love Pink Floyd and I own almost every album they ever made. I like classic rock, Led Zeppelin, anything that rambles on, tells a story, and has a good beat. I like Muse, Bush, Chris Cornell, Tool, Classical Music...I have eclectic tastes really.
